Petite Pearl Drop Necklace

Petite pearls, individual hand woven onto gold filled chain. This beautiful piece is so delicate to wear you forget it’s on, that is until of course a by passer stops you to remind you of it’s beauty.

The inspiration of this piece is of a sailor who meets the ethereal and alluring mermaid. Sailors are told to fear the mermaids, for they will carry them to the deepest of depth, however this sailor, besotted by the mermaid’s presence can’t bare hunting her down and instead gifts her a necklace made of tiny pearls that he has collected from far and wide. The mermaid, overjoyed by the sailors gift, is said to have returned the gesture and asked the ocean to guide him safely through all of his oceanic endeavours. This folklore to us shows that kindness breeds kindness.
